In late March, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Louren and Thomas at ‘The Granary at Fawsley’. This is an absolutely stunning barn wedding venue tucked away in the serene Northamptonshire countryside. I’ve captured a number of weddings at this venue before, and I can honestly say it never fails to amaze me.
I had a wonderful chat with the couple before the big day, going through all the finer details and getting a sense of what they wanted. They were determined to keep things simple and stress-free, so they could spend more quality time with their loved ones. I arrived early to get a sense of the location and to come up with new ideas to make their day even more special. Yes, I have captured a number of weddings here in the past, but that doesn’t mean that I like to replicate other weddings. In fact, I love coming up with fresh and creative wedding portraits for every single couple that books me!
When I arrived, I ran into Louren and we had a great chat about a unique idea she had for the “first look” moment. She wanted to hold hands with Thomas instead of seeing each other right away. (Scroll down to see the magical moment captured on camera!) I left her to finish getting ready in one of the venue’s bedrooms and soon after, Thomas arrived with the rest of the guests. It was a great opportunity to capture candid moments of everyone’s arrival and the excitement in the air.
Before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony to start, and everyone made their way to The Fawsley Suite. The venue’s stunning decor and romantic ambiance set the perfect tone for the ceremony, which was nothing short of magical. It was an honour to be a part of such a special day and to capture all the unforgettable moments.

As the guests began to take their seats, time seemed to fly by, and suddenly the ceremony was in full swing. Thomas confided that he was a little anxious, but I reassured him that it was perfectly normal and that he should cherish every moment of his special day, as it would pass by in the blink of an eye.
As Louren made her way down the aisle, her beaming smile lit up the room. Walking arm in arm with her grandad, she looked nothing short of stunning in her exquisite dress. From the beginning to the end of the ceremony, every detail was perfect, and before they knew it, Thomas and Louren were officially declared as husband and wife.
Their union was the culmination of their love story, and the joy and excitement in the air was palpable. From the carefully chosen flowers to the meticulously planned ceremony, every aspect was designed to create a magical and unforgettable experience for them both, as well as all of the guests.
As the newlyweds walked down the aisle, hand in hand, the happiness on their faces was contagious, and their guests erupted in cheers and applause. I can imagine it would be a moment that they would both remember for the rest of their lives.
After the beautiful ceremony, we all gathered outside to witness the newlyweds walk hand in hand through a sea of bubbles.
However, our joyful celebration was soon interrupted by a sudden downpour, but that didn’t dampen our spirits as we quickly made our way to the charming barn where the remainder of the day’s festivities would take place. The picturesque barn setting was a stunning backdrop for the couple’s special day and left a lasting impression on all who attended.
As the day progressed, it flew by in a blur of excitement and merriment, making for an unforgettable experience to capture through the lens. The speeches delivered by the best man were undeniably hilarious, and even though they may have been a little risqué, they were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Additionally, seeing the children running around and having fun, their laughter echoing throughout the day, was heartwarming.
The dance floor was undoubtedly a highlight, with the guests breaking out their best moves and letting loose with abandon, making for some truly memorable photos.
Louren & Thomas, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes for a lifetime of happiness together. You are truly a magnificent couple. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all of your loved ones for making me feel so welcomed and appreciated on your special day. Lastly, to the wonderful team at ‘The Granary at Fawsley’, I cannot wait to collaborate with you all again in the near future!
