Whittlebury Park Wedding

Whittlebury Park, what a stunning wedding venue tucked away into the Northamptonshire countryside.

During June I had the pleasure of photographing Ashleigh & Lewis’s Wedding day at the beautiful Whittlebury park. I have wanted to capture a wedding at this venue for some time, so when the couple contacted me and told me this is where their wedding day would be held, I was buzzing to say the least! I have photographed weddings all across Northamptonshire over the years which I have shared with you all every step of the way, so finally having the chance to capture a wedding day here was amazing!

I met up with the couple a few weeks before their wedding to go through the finer details of their day. I came away really looking forward to what their day would bring, as they had so many interesting things going on! (The game of Mr & Mrs was a funny moment to capture!)

I arrived nice and early at Whittlebury park to scope out the venue, and get ideas together for the couple. I was with newlyweds from pretty much start to finish, beginning the day with bridal prep. As usual bridal prep was a lot of fun to capture and had one little girl following me around for most of the morning, wanting lots of photographs of herself which was cute.

Lewis arrived in style around an hour before the ceremony kicked off. He arrived in a BMW with the roof down, music blaring with a huge smile on his face (Such an epic entrance I have to say!)

The prep flew by and before I knew it, the ceremony was in full swing.

The Orangery at Whittlebury Park is simply stunning!

Ashleigh looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress, and could not have looked more proud walking down the aisle with her mum. The Orangery where the ceremony took place is a stunning wedding venue, full of charm, and was the perfect backdrop for such a special occasion.

The day overall was packed with so many lovely moments, which will stick with me for a very long time. I am not the most emotional person in the world, but I have to say, certain parts of the day had me getting a little teary. From smiles to tears, every emotion was out there, and we could all feel it. Ashleigh’s sister in particular looked so proud, and rightly so!

The Pavilion is the perfect space to dance the night away and more!

After the ceremony had finished we headed outside for the confetti throw, group photographs, and the bride and groom portraits. What was lovely about the couple’s formal portraits, in particular, was that the couple wanted to practice their first dance without anyone watching. So while the guests were having a cheeky drink in the sun outside the pavilion, we went away and captured them doing just that.

We had their first dance song playing in the background while they danced with one another, which was such a lovely thing to witness and capture. They said they both felt a little nervous about the first dance, but you would never have guessed that from watching them as they absolutely nailed it!

After their portraits, we headed around to the pavilion for the wedding breakfast. The pavilion is where the rest of the day would be spent, but again it was such a great space to hold a wedding.

The rest of the day went by so fast, as there was so much going on. The white bouncy castle went down a treat with both children and adults, and the dancefloor was full of people throughout the evening. In every direction I looked people were smiling, and having a really good time!

The night ended with all the guests leaving, and it was just myself, Ashleigh, and Lewis inside the pavilion. They wanted to end the night by dancing together one last time, without anyone watching. I have never captured this kind of thing before in all my years, but it was such a perfect way to end a perfect day. Weddings like this will live with me forever, as it had everything going for it.

I wish the couple both a lifetime of happiness together, they make such a cracking couple!

It was also great to win an award that was captured at Whittlebury Park. I am very proud of the image above and will certainly be adding this image to my portfolio! I would like to thank both Ashleigh & Lewis for trusting my vision and giving me the time to capture this for them.
