Nestled in a picturesque countryside setting with breathtaking views of the water-ski lake, Grendon Lakes in Northamptonshire offers the ideal backdrop for a romantic and relaxing celebration.
In the summer of 2023, I had the pleasure of revisiting Grendon Lakes, a location I had previously captured for a wedding a few years prior. Paige and Dean, a laid-back couple, eagerly anticipated sharing their special day with close friends and family. Before their wedding, I met with them at their home to discuss the details and gain insight into their vision for the day. An unexpected coincidence emerged as I discovered Dean had attended school with a friend of mine, it’s a small world aye!
The couple shared their plans, including alpaca encounters for both kids and adults and a spectacular fireworks display to conclude the festivities. Despite some challenging weather moments, the spirits remained high, and the evening skies cleared just in time for the eagerly anticipated fireworks.
On the wedding day, Dean radiated happiness as he donned his sharp suit. His calm demeanor masked any nerves he may have felt. From the family and friends’ arrivals to the magical first dance, every moment was captured. Paige arrived in style with her bridesmaids, all ready to celebrate with a toast upon arrival. She looked radiant in her wedding dress, with her family beaming with pride.
Grendon Lakes, a Beautiful Lakeside Location
The ceremony unfolded with laughter and touching moments, especially when children added a playful element by wandering underneath the table. Emotions ran high, highlighting the genuine love for the newlyweds in the room.
Post-ceremony, guests enjoyed alpaca feeding and indulged in drinks and canapes despite the weather’s unpredictability. The unique alpaca experience added a delightful touch to the celebration. Thankfully, the weather improved, allowing for group formals by the lake and intimate portraits of the newlyweds. Grendon Lakes’ expansive space provided children ample room to play and the couple some precious moments alone for portraits – a rarity on wedding days filled with socialising.

The day unfolded in a whirlwind, featuring heartfelt speeches, the cutting of the cake, and the unforgettable first dance. During the confetti photographs, Dean’s family added a humorous touch by showering him with confetti, creating a memorable moment. As the dance floor opened, guests enthusiastically joined in, ensuring a lively and joyful celebration.
