Leicestershire is right on my doorstep. I was born and raised in Northamptonshire, and some of my favourite weddings have happened just over the county line, from the canal side tipis at Bridge House Barn to ceremonies under the trees at The Woodlands at Hothorpe Hall, which sits right on the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire border.

How I Work on the Day
I’m Lewis, and my documentary approach is pretty simple. You enjoy your wedding, and I quietly photograph it as it happens. I’ve photographed over 250 weddings since 2015, and the biggest thing I’ve learned is that the less I interfere, the better the photographs get.
I don’t run your day. I work around it, watching, guessing what’s about to happen and trying to be in the right spot when it does. The nerves before the ceremony, your mate losing it during the speeches, the hug that goes on a bit longer than anyone expected, and all the bits you didn’t even notice at the time.
I’ll step in when I need to, for confetti, family groups and a few portraits. The rest of the time, I just let things happen.
Portraits, Without the Awkwardness
Right, the bit most couples are secretly dreading.
I won’t drag you away for an hour or fold you into stiff, uncomfortable poses. We’ll take around 15 minutes for relaxed portraits, usually while your guests are busy with a drink, then you’re straight back to the party.
A bit of gentle direction so you’re not left wondering what to do with your hands, plenty of chatting, and that’s about it. Teela and Matt laughed so much through theirs at The Woodlands at Hothorpe that they barely needed me. Teela did insist on one photo on the little wooden bridge, mind. It’s a family tradition. Every bridge gets a photo.
The Stuff Nobody Plans
Most of what I photograph isn’t planned by anyone. At Teela and Matt’s wedding, the guests had a peg game running all day, clipping pegs onto each other without getting caught. One young lad decided I was his main target. I wandered round The Woodlands covered in pegs for half the day before someone finally burst out laughing.
That’s the kind of thing I’m there for. In practice, it means:

- Your guests being themselves, not lined up and waiting for me
- The emotional bits left alone, so they can actually happen

Sun, Rain and Dark Ceremony Rooms
I’ve photographed weddings in manor houses, barns, tipis, hotels and fields, everywhere from Leicestershire to a manor barn in Berkshire. I’ve worked through blazing sun, sideways rain, dark ceremony rooms and packed dance floors.
So I don’t panic when the weather turns or the timings slip. When Chez and Fraser’s engagement shoot at Foxton turned grey and overcast, I didn’t pretend the sun was out. I used a bit of creative lighting for the final photo instead, which gave it a completely different look from the rest of the evening.

I’m based in Northamptonshire, so the whole of Leicestershire is within easy reach, from Market Harborough and Lutterworth up to Loughborough and Melton Mowbray. I also travel all over the UK, and abroad.
Can you describe your wedding photography style?
Mostly documentary, with a few creative wedding portraits thrown in. I photograph what’s actually happening, the reactions, the cheeky bits and the quiet moments, without asking you to stop and pose for them.

What does your wedding photography package include?
There are four packages, from Half Day (6 hours, £1,195) up to The Full Shebang (12 hours, £2,395). The Full Day covers 10 hours, from morning prep into the evening. Albums are included with The Full Day + Album and The Full Shebang. Every package includes a chat before the wedding, a private online gallery with unlimited downloads, full printing rights and a highlights slideshow.
How long will it take to receive our wedding photos?
You’ll get 20 sneak peeks within 48 hours and a highlights slideshow within a week, so you’ve got something to share while I work through the rest. I’ll talk you through timings for the full gallery when you book.
What kind of wedding venues in Leicestershire have you worked at?
In Leicestershire, I’ve photographed weddings at Bridge House Barn, Rothley Court Hotel and Beaumanor Hall, plus The Woodlands at Hothorpe Hall on the Northamptonshire border. From tipis by the water to ceremonies in the woods, no two have felt the same. If your venue isn’t on that list, it’s not a problem. I’ll arrive early, get my bearings and work out where the light and the groups will work best.
How do we book you as our Leicestershire wedding photographer?

Do you offer engagement photo shoots as well?
Yes, and they’re a good way to get used to me and the camera before the wedding. Chez and Fraser’s shoot started at The Black Horse in Foxton and wandered down towards the locks, past the canal Fraser has fallen into, not once but twice. They both told me they hated having their photo taken. You wouldn’t guess it from the photos. An engagement shoot can be added to any package.
How do we choose the right wedding photography package for our intimate wedding?
Not every wedding needs a full day. Half Day gives you 6 hours of coverage, which suits a lot of smaller weddings, and if you need a little more, an extra hour is £150. Tell me what you’ve got planned and I’ll be honest about what you actually need.
Can family and friends view and order prints from our wedding?
Yes. Your photos go into a private online gallery that you can share with family and friends. They can view and download them, and order prints straight from the gallery.
What makes Leicestershire special for wedding photography?
Variety, mostly. In one county you’ve got rolling countryside, woodland, country house hotels and old halls, plus Leicester and Loughborough if you’d like something more urban. Honestly though, the best photos rarely come from the backdrop. They come from your people, and a good venue just gives them room to relax.
What is your approach to wedding photography?
Relaxed and mostly hands off. I blend in, chat to your guests and photograph the day as it happens, only organising the bits that genuinely need organising. I’ve picked up a few awards along the way, including Best Wedding Photographer in the Midlands 2026 at The I Do Wedding Awards, which is based on couples’ reviews.
