Dodmoor House, what a stunning venue for a styled wedding shoot!
On the first day of Spring 2023, I had the privilege of spending the day at Dodmoor house, which is located in Northamptonshire, to capture a styled wedding shoot. A photographer I know by the name of Horatio asked if I knew of any wedding venues in and around Northamptonshire that would be interested in holding a styled shoot. I contacted Dodmoor house, as I had captured a number of weddings there over the years(check out my blogs), and they instantly said yes! (Thank you Dodmoor!)
Horatio contacted all the other suppliers that would need to be involved on the day, as well as arranged a couple who would model. To his credit, he sorted all of this and managed to get hold of some incredible wedding suppliers (Top marks Horatio!)
Myself and Horatio, arrived nice and early on the day, to scope out the venue, as we wanted to capture portraits in a way that the venue may not have seen before. Plus, as the weather was not entirely on our side, we knew we would be spending the day indoors. Thankfully, Dodmoor House has a stunning ceremony room (also known as the ‘Courtyard Barn‘), as well as a beautiful wedding breakfast/reception room (also known as ‘Catesby Barn‘) which was perfect for portraits. Admittedly, if the weather was on our side on the day, we would have spent much of the day outdoors, as the grounds at Dodmoor house are impressive! There are many barn wedding venues across Northamptonshire, and this is up there with the best!
Before we knew it, all the suppliers had arrived, and the couple who were modeling for us spent some time getting ready in the ‘Honeymoon Suite‘ (we also made use of the honeymoon suite, for portraits) The team at Dodmoor house had already decorated the ceremony room, as well as the wedding breakfast/reception room in advance. So while the couple were getting ready, myself and Horatio captured lots of detail shots of the venue. I also got my drone up in the air to capture an aerial view of the venue, and as you will see, Dodmoor house really does have that wow factor!
Once the couple was ready (suited and booted, so to say!) we spent the rest of the day photographing them, in as many creative ways as possible. The day as a whole was so much fun, and seemed to fly by so quickly!
