Born and Bred in Northamptonshire, Photographing Weddings Across the County
I’m Lewis, a Northamptonshire wedding photographer. Born here, raised here, still here. I photograph relaxed, documentary led weddings all over the county, and further afield whenever couples fancy dragging me somewhere new.
Since 2015 I’ve photographed over 250 weddings, across the UK and as far away as Mexico and Cyprus. A good chunk of those have been right here on home turf: barns near Daventry, country houses around Kettering, village churches, pubs and marquees. So the things that shape a wedding day here, the light, the timings, the weather and the country lanes your guests will definitely get lost on, I’ve dealt with plenty of times.
The way I work is pretty simple. I photograph what’s actually happening while you get on with enjoying it. I’ll step in for the bits that need a little organising, like groups, confetti and a few portraits. The rest of the time, I just let things happen.
Most couples tell me afterwards they forgot I was there, then wonder how I managed to be everywhere. That’s the idea.

How I Photograph Northamptonshire Weddings
From the first cup of tea at prep to the dance floor chaos, here’s roughly how the day goes with me.
Morning preparations
I capture the atmosphere as it builds without interrupting or directing. Nerves, excitement, and those quiet moments with family, your dad adjusting his tie for the fourth time.
Ceremony
I shoot from positions where I can see faces. Reactions matter as much as the main event, sometimes more.
Group photos
Confident and efficient. We get them done quickly so nobody drifts off to the bar halfway through, then you’re straight back to your guests.
Couple portraits
Around 15 minutes. Short, relaxed and gently guided, then you’re back with your guests. No awkward posing, no standing about wondering what to do with your hands.
Evening celebrations
I stay alert and involved, capturing the dancefloor and candid moments without getting in the way. If your uncle does something regrettable, I’ll probably photograph it.
If guests start posing every time they spot me, I’ll crack a joke and wander off again. They soon forget about me and go back to having a good time.

What Local Experience Actually Helps With
Weddings here run from a village church and a pub reception to a barn in the middle of nowhere or a big country house. Timings wobble, the light changes and the weather does whatever it likes. This is where having done it a lot on home turf actually helps.

Are you based in Northamptonshire?
Yes. Northamptonshire’s home, so most venues in the county are pretty much on my doorstep.
What areas do you cover in Northamptonshire?
All of it, including Northampton, Daventry, Towcester, Kettering, Wellingborough, Brackley and the villages in between. If your venue’s a bit out of the way, no stress, I’m used to country lanes.
What style of wedding photography do you shoot?
Relaxed and documentary led. Most of the day I’m photographing what’s actually happening, the reactions, the hugs, the chaos. I give a bit of gentle direction for groups and portraits, and that’s about it.
We’re awkward on camera, will you help?
Yep. Most couples feel like that. I’ll keep portraits quick and simple, give you easy prompts, and get you back to your guests fast. No cringe, no “hold hands and stare lovingly into the middle distance”.
How long do you need for couple portraits?
Around 15 minutes. Short, relaxed and timed so it doesn’t eat into your day. If the light’s lovely later on, we might sneak out for another 5 minutes at sunset.
Can you help with group photos?
Yes. We’ll plan the list together beforehand, then on the day I’ll round everyone up and work through it quickly, so you can get back to your drinks.
What if it rains on the wedding day?
Then we work with it. I’ll use sheltered spots, indoor light and quick portrait options, so you’re not stood outside freezing for the sake of one photo. Some of the best moments happen in the rain anyway.
How long will it take to receive our wedding photos?
You’ll get 20 sneak peeks within 48 hours and a highlights slideshow within a week, so you’ve got something to relive straight away. The full gallery follows once I’ve edited every image myself, and I’ll give you an idea of timings when we chat.
What’s included in your wedding photography packages?
Every package includes 20 sneak peeks within 48 hours, a highlights slideshow, a private online gallery with unlimited downloads, an online print store, a personalised timeline and every image edited individually by me. Albums come with The Full Day + Album and The Full Shebang, and you can add one later if you change your mind.
Do you offer engagement or pre wedding photo shoots?
Yes, they’re £300 and can be added to any package. They’re a good way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding, and you’ll come away with relaxed photos you can use for invites or your wedding website.
Do you travel outside Northamptonshire?
Yes, all the time. Wherever you’re getting married in the UK, or further afield, just tell me your venue and date.
How do we book you?

Can our family and friends view and order prints?
Yes. Your gallery is private, easy to share, and guests can download images or order prints through the online store.
