Award-Winning Documentary Wedding Photographer

Hi, I’m Lewis, a creative, documentary wedding photographer capturing weddings across the UK. I regularly work throughout Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Bedfordshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire, focusing on moments that happen naturally, without anyone being asked to repeat something or pretend they’re having fun.

My approach is relaxed, but my delivery is big, bold, and full of life. I blend in with your guests, get close to the action when it matters, and know exactly when to step back. For most of the day, you won’t find me staging or directing. I let things unfold as they should.

When something does need organising, especially group photos, I’m calm, clear, and confident so it doesn’t drag. Once that’s done, I blend back in and let you get on with enjoying your wedding.

Over 10 years and 250+ weddings later, I’ve learned that couples who choose this approach feel relieved afterwards. They look back and remember enjoying their day, not managing a photographer. The photos bring back how it actually felt, not how they performed for the camera.

95% real moments you’ll actually remember. 5% effortless portraits that look bloody good.

From the look on your partner’s face as you walk down the aisle, to the laughter during speeches and the in between moments you’ll be glad someone noticed, I’m there capturing it all, while you focus on enjoying your day and not thinking about photos.

What You’re Actually Getting (And Why It Matters)

Real Lives, Real Memories, Real Moments, Captured…

  • Over 250 Weddings of Experience
I’ve photographed weddings at barn venues, manor houses, marquees in fields, registry offices, you name it. I know how to read a room, anticipate moments before they happen, and stay calm when timings go sideways. Which they sometimes do. It’s fine. Nobody remembers the schedule anyway.
  • You’ll Barely Notice Me (That’s the Whole Point)
If guests start looking at the camera, I’ll crack a joke and disappear again. Most couples say they forgot I was there, while somehow feeling like I was everywhere. If I’m doing my job properly, you should be surprised by half the photos because you genuinely didn’t know I was standing there.
  • Quick, Relaxed Portraits (15 Minutes, Not an Hour)
Portraits take 15 minutes, not an hour. Short, gently guided, never awkward. I know you’d rather be with your guests than standing in a field pretending to laugh at nothing while a photographer tells you to “act natural” for the seventeenth time. We’ll get some lovely shots, have a bit of a laugh, and get you back to the people who actually matter.
  • I’m Actually Available (No, Really)
Any questions, big or small, WhatsApp me. I respond quickly, keep things informal, and don’t hide behind slow email forms or “I’ll get back to you in 3-5 business days” nonsense. You’ve got direct access, 24/7. Yes, even at stupid o’clock when you’re lying awake panicking about whether Uncle Dave will behave himself.
  • Four to Six Weeks Delivery (Sometimes Faster)
Your photos arrive fast. Every image individually edited by me, not bulk-processed or sent off to someone in another country who’s never met you. You’ll get a sneak peek within a few days so you’re not waiting weeks wondering what your photos look like.
  • Award-Winning Work (Proof the Approach Works Under Pressure)
Recognised by This is Reportage Award for documentary storytelling and Flashmasters for creative portraits. Quiet proof that this approach still delivers when timelines slip, weather turns, or plans change.

Planning Your Wedding? Let’s Talk.

If you’re looking for a photographer who values real moments, avoids awkward posing, and lets you enjoy your day without turning it into a three-hour photoshoot, get in touch.

Even if you’re early in planning and just need someone you can trust, I’m happy to talk through your plans.

No pressure, no hard sell, no “limited availability this week only” nonsense. Just an honest conversation about your day and whether I’m the right fit.

No forms disappearing into a void. No awkward sales chat. Just a proper conversation.

You’ll get a reply from me, not an assistant, usually the same day. We’ll see if we’re a good fit, and if so, I’ll walk you through the next steps.

WhatsApp works best, but email’s fine too if you prefer.
