Kayleigh & Matt // Autumn Wedding // Horwood House // Buckinghamshire

During September of 2021, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Kayleigh & Matt’s wedding day.

Their wedding took place at a gorgeous grade II listed manor house by the name of ‘Horwood House’ which is situated in Buckinghamshire.

I have photographed a couple of weddings at this venue now, and admire it that much, I even created a venue page for it on my website! I visited Horwood house with the couple not just once, but twice as they also decided they wanted to have their engagement shoot there, which I captured the year before ( I also typed up a blog covering their engagement shoot)

I have wanted to share this day with you all for some time now, but I simply did not have the time to put this blog together, as I had so much on during 2021.

OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE FORMED SOME INCREDIBLE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE COUPLES THAT BOOK ME.

I shall never forget Kayleigh & Matt, as they were so easy to get on with, had an excellent sense of humour, and to put it simply, we clicked. Due to us meeting up for the engagement shoot (Which I highly recommend, as it’s a great way to get used to the camera before your big day) before the wedding day itself, we formed a pretty close bond. I would like to say that we met up as strangers and came away as friends.

After the engagement shoot, it would be nearly another year before we met up in person, but we kept in constant contact through Whatsapp. We did end up meeting up around a month before their wedding day, and I would like to thank them both for treating me to a meal out (Totally unexpected). We planned to meet up to discuss their day in detail, and they suggested we meet up at a restaurant in Milton Keynes, which turned out to be such a great evening!

Their wedding day soon rolled around, and I headed to Horwood House for what would be one epic day. As I pulled up, I saw Matt waiting outside, as he was waiting for his mobile hairdresser to turn up. It was great to see him again, and after a few minutes of conversation, I headed up to where the bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready.

So bridal preps can either go one of two ways, they are either incredibly hectic or pretty laid back. Unsurprisingly, Kayleigh’s prep was a pretty relaxed affair, with lots of laughter going on, and everyone getting ready in a chilled, orderly fashion.

Kayleigh looked stunning in her wedding dress and meeting Matt outside with his best man, I can safely say he didn’t scrub up too badly either! (Of course, you also looked stunning Matt!)

THEIR WEDDING DAY WAS PERFECT, AND EVERYTHING RAN LIKE CLOCKWORK.

I remember thinking as Kayleigh was walking down the aisle, at how fast time goes. I remember them initially booking me way back, and now there they both were, about to tie the knot. They both looked so happy, and rightly so, they were meant for each other. The ceremony flew by as they always do, and they were officially Mr & Mrs Jones (Woop Woop!)

The rest of the day was absolutely packed with genuinely beautiful moments. You see, when I photograph a wedding, I don’t look at it as just a wedding, it’s even bigger than that in my eyes. There’s very rarely a time in our lives when all of our family & friends get together to celebrate, and it’s my job to capture that in the most real, authentic, and natural way possible. (while also throwing in some creative portraits, which they were also more than happy to do, thank you!)

It wasn’t just the adults having all the fun either, it was great to see the children playing, and running around on the stunning grounds that Horwood house has.

I have to mention the magician/toastmaster, as he was very cool I have to say. (Telling everyone to shut up was a personal highlight of mine. It sounds bad reading that, but honestly it was so so funny, and thankfully so did all the guests!)

Everyone looked so happy for the newlyweds and as cheesy as it sounds, there was a lot of love in the air!

THE WHOLE DAY SEEMED TO GO BY IN A FLASH, AND BEFORE I KNEW IT, I WAS PACKING UP AND READY TO GO HOME…

That would not be the last time we stayed in contact with each other though. It has only been a week or so since our Whattsapp group chat ended. It was weirdly difficult to close the chat down, as we had formed such a great bond, even Kayleigh said the same.

Again, I can genuinely call them friends, and if they ever needed me again for anything, I am just a phone call away.

I wish the couple a lifetime of happiness together, and fingers crossed, we cross paths again one day.

Congratulations again to Mr & Mrs Jones x
