Summer Wedding at Winters Tale Country Barn

Kate & Luke’s Summer Wedding at Winters Tale Country Barn

This past summer, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing the love-filled union of Kate & Luke at the picturesque Winters Tale Country Barn. This hidden gem in Buckinghamshire marked my first encounter with its rustic charm, and spoiler alert – it is definitely not the last. Before the big day, I delved into some online research about the venue, and, gotta say, I was thoroughly impressed by what I found.

I met up with Kate & Luke for a catch-up at their home, a month before their wedding. Picture this: we’re relaxing in their garden, sipping a cold beer, talking about weddings, and everything in between. Both Kate & Luke were very laid back about their wedding day, which was lovely to hear. Leaving their home, I was buzzing with excitement, convinced their wedding day was going to be nothing short of amazing. If their friends and family were anything like them, fun was guaranteed. And boy, was I right!

Arriving at Winters Tale Country Barn a month later, I made sure to scope out the venue early, always eager to get a feel for the place. The countryside setting was breathtaking, and kudos to the staff – they were top-notch, giving me the grand tour. The barn itself was a pleasant surprise, boasting abundant natural light that made it shine even more.

After looking around the venue, I headed to meet Kate and her bridesmaids getting ready at the venue (did I mention this place has it all?). Laughter filled the air, and the ladies were clearly ready for the incredible day ahead.

Luke and his rowdy bunch of lads joined the party later on, by getting ready a few doors up from where Kate was. They were my kind of people, let me tell you! Luke was a bit nervous, but a cheeky drink and some words of reassurance did the trick. The morning whizzed by, and before I knew it, I was capturing heartwarming moments like the first look between Kate and her dad – a personal favourite of mine.

The Ceremony? Pure Perfection!

Emotions ran high, and soon enough, Kate & Luke were officially Mr & Mrs, throwing their arms in the air with infectious joy. The courtyard became a hub of celebration during the drinks reception – hugs, laughter, and kids having a blast. Bliss, truly.

Opting for a relaxed, documentary approach to photography, Kate & Luke wanted to soak in every moment with their loved ones. No posed portraits together as a couple, just natural captures. They did however wish to have a few quick family shots, and they were back to enjoying the day.

After the drinks reception, the party moved into the barn for the wedding breakfast, speeches, and evening festivities. The speeches were very funny, and games during the meal had everyone in a party spirit. Competitive adults, anyone?

The warm evening prompted more outdoor fun, with games turning ultra-competitive – especially when Kate dominated the hammer game. Sorry, Luke – it had to be said.

The dance floor opened, the cake was cut, and the first dance was a stellar performance. And let me tell you, this group knew how to party. From a spontaneous bouquet throw to Kate’s dad and brother belting out tunes, it was nothing short of epic.

In the blink of an eye, it was time to pack up my gear and head home. Time flies when you’re having a blast, doesn’t it? Kate and Luke, here’s to a lifetime of happiness. Massive thanks to you both and your wonderful loved ones for making me feel right at home on your special day!
