Delapre Abbey Wedding in Spring

A perfect Spring wedding at Delapre Abbey, Northamptonshire

During April I had the pleasure of photographing Jayne & Paul’s wedding at the beautiful Delpare Abbey. This grade II listed manor house, located in Northamptonshire is packed full of photographic goodness, and incredibly rich in history too!

I have visited this venue throughout my life, for family days out, events, and so forth. It is one of those venues that you cannot help but feel impressed by with each and every visit. It’s funny, as growing up, I never would have guessed in a million years that I would one day photograph a wedding at Delapre Abbey.

WHEN JAYNE MENTIONED THAT SHE WOULD BE HOLDING HER WEDDING AT DELAPRE ABBEY, I KNEW THIS WEDDING WAS GOING TO BE EXTRA SPECIAL.

So me and Jayne go way back, and we have known each other for many years. What an honour it was when she asked if I could capture her special day. I hadn’t seen Jayne for some time, but met her and her husband to be Paul at their home a few weeks before their wedding.

We went through all the fine details of their day, and of course, had a good old natter about anything and everything (It was lovely to catch up with you Jayne!) This was the first time I had ever met Paul properly, but as soon as we got talking I could see he was a true gentleman. I came away from their home, knowing that their wedding day was going to be a really lovely affair.

Admittedly this was going to be a very relaxed wedding, compared to some of the crazy and livelier weddings that I have captured, but there isn’t anything wrong with that. In fact, this wedding, in particular, was packed full of lovely moments and was an absolute pleasure to capture.

THE WEDDING DAY SOON ROLLED AROUND, AND WHAT A GREAT DAY IT WAS, FROM START TO FINISH.

The weather for one could not have been better, the sun was out in all it’s glory. Secondly, all of the guests were smiling and having a great time throughout, and rightly so. As mentioned before, this was a quieter wedding than what I am used to, but still full of moments worth capturing. I get a lot of satisfaction out of capturing genuine, real moments, and thankfully this day had lots of them! The whole day seemed to fly by, and before I knew it, I was packing up, and heading home.

I would like to thank Jayne & Paul one more time for choosing me to be part of their special day, and I wish both a lifetime of happiness together.

Lastly, I would like to thank the team at Delapre Abbey for being so accomodating and making me feel so welcome on the day!

I would love to return to this venue again one day. Thankfully the wedding planner was kind enough to take my details as she said she would be more than happy to share them with future couples. I always take pride in creating a good bond with wedding venues, and fingers crossed I get to return to this stunning venue again very soon!
