I have had the chance to photograph many weddings across Northamptonshire, and Delapre Abbey is up there with the best. Delapré Abbey is nestled within beautiful parkland in the heart of Northampton, providing the convenience of a city venue with the seclusion of a country house. This place is packed with history, offering something different from other wedding venues. They have a variety of amazing spaces to jazz up your wedding day. Get ready for the historical charm of their Library, where you’ll soak in stunning views of the Abbey’s grounds—this spot’s a hit for ceremonies.

Feel the love in their Salon, Drawing Room, or the elegant Dining Room. Picture this: your ceremony, breakfast, and evening bash all in one spot, with a lip-smacking menu whipped up by their top-notch catering team and head chef.

In 2022, they opened up some brand-spanking-new wedding cottages, which are snuggled next to the Abbey’s main house. Now, bridal squads can hang out onsite before the big day, and lovebirds can extend the fun after guests take off.

At Delapré Abbey, they are all about quality, not quantity. That’s why they cap their weddings at 25 per year—to make sure every couple gets a personalised, tailored-to-you experience that’s absolutely smashing!

Their brand-new outdoor wedding license, sealed and delivered in 2023, has transformed their Walled Garden into THE spot to tie the knot at Delapré Abbey. This enchanting enclosed area is a vibrant hub with a massive kitchen garden blooming with seasonal fruits and flowers, a maze of paths, quirky topiary, and eye-catching sculptures. It’s the place where they hold small ceremonies in their ‘thatched larder’ and throw humanist ceremonies for up to 100 guests, taking full advantage of the space.

But wait, there’s more! The Abbey isn’t just about the garden vibes. They’ve got rolling parkland, a sprawling lawn hugging the south front, beautiful tree-lined paths, and magnificent glass houses that scream “picture-perfect.” They roll out the marquees on the South Lawn for weddings with up to 500 guests—where every angle is a photo opportunity to capture that enchanting wedding magic!
