Whittlebury Park Wedding in Autumn

Whittlebury Park, a charming wedding venue set within the Northamptonshire countryside.

During October I had the pleasure of photographing Stephanie & Matthew’s Wedding day at the beautiful Whittlebury park, located in Northamptonshire. I have been lucky enough to have captured a number of weddings at this venue now, and it never disappoints.

I had a chat with the couple a few weeks before their wedding day via a video call, to go over their day in detail, and just have a general chin wag. It’s always great to speak to the couple properly before a wedding, because that way, we are not like strangers on the day, and more like friends. I came away from the call, really looking forward to what their day would bring.

Their wedding day soon rolled around, and I arrived at Whittlebury park an hour before the ceremony began. It was a beautiful crisp, sunny, Autumn day, and Whittlebury park looked beautiful. The orangery in particular is always a lovely space to walk into and is an incredible room to hold a ceremony in.

Upon my arrival, I was pretty much greeted by Stephanie and her daughter, who turned up to get ready in the room just above the orangery. It was lovely to return to this venue, as I had been there previously during the summer months to capture Ashleigh & Lewis’s special day. As it was Autumn, the venue had a whole different feel to it but felt just as special as before. It’s surprising how different a venue can feel throughout the seasons.

I did my usual thing, scoping out the venue for ideas (Yes I have captured weddings here before, but I always like to come up with fresh, creative ideas for each and every couple), and as I did, I bumped into Matthew at the venue, who was with his little baby boy, and family. I spent some time with them all, before heading back round to the orangery to capture the other guests who began to arrive.

The Orangery at Whittlebury Park is such an elegant setting for a wedding.

Before we knew it, everyone was seated, and the ceremony was in full swing. It was lovely to see Steph & Matt’s daughter and son coming down the aisle, as they looked so cute. Everywhere I looked, guests were smiling, and clearly so happy for the couple. Before they knew it, they were officially Mr & Mrs (Congratulations!)

After the ceremony, we of course had to do the traditional confetti throw. (Which is always a lot of fun to capture) After that, I pretty much left the couple alone for some time, while the guests could congratulate them both with the biggest of hugs! ( you cannot beat a good hug!) We then spent some time photographing groups on the lawn just outside the orangery itself. The weather held out, just enough to give us time to finish the formal group shots. We all headed back into the orangery, hoping for the weather to improve. (Thankfully the rain only lasted ten minutes)) Once it did, myself and the couple headed outside for a few portraits. They were such a fun-loving couple to photograph, and completely natural in front of the camera.

Once we had finished the portraits, I left the couple to it, to enjoy their wedding breakfast. This was a very intimate wedding, so their meal was held in the small room, next to the Orangery. For bigger weddings, meals are typically eaten in the pavilion room. Once the speeches were finished aftrer the meal, we headed into the pavilion room. I mentioned that this was an intimate wedding in the day, which it was, but during the evening reception, a lot more guests turned up.

Before the first dance, the couple had arranged fireworks, with their daughter being the one to push the big red button to let the firework display begin. This was an incredible fireworks display, with heart shapes being shot up into the air ( I managed to capture it perfectly!) Once they had finished I captured the first dance, and then it was time to head home. The whole day went by so fast as it always does, and I wish the couple both a lifetime of happiness together.

I would like to say thank you to the couple and all of the guests for making me feel so welcome on the day!

Now scroll on down and check out the wedding day, which again was captured at the magnificent Whittlebury Park!
