Charming Summer Wedding at Wood Farm at Everdon of Stacey & Steven

Wood Farm at Everdon, what a stunning barn style wedding venue.

During July I had the pleasure of photographing Stacey & Steven’s Wedding day at Wood Farm at Everdon. This is a barn wedding venue that I had wanted to capture a wedding at for some time, so when the couple booked me I felt very lucky.

Northamptonshire is packed full of impressive wedding venues, and Wood Farm at Everdon is up there with the best. That combined with a great group of people made it that extra special. Everyone on the wedding day made me feel so welcome and were all clearly up for having a great time. (The congo line was a surprise, but so much fun to capture!)

I had a chat with the couple a few weeks before their wedding day via a video call, to go over their day in detail, and just have a general chin wag. Steven and Stacey were both very laid back and had a great sense of humour. From the call I understood they wanted a simple wedding, in that, they just wanted everyone to have the best time, with no stress or fuss.

Their wedding day soon rolled around, and I arrived at Dodford grange to capture the ladies getting ready. I had never visited Dodford Grange before, but I can tell you one thing, they know how to look after a wedding party. They were very accommodating, laying out a beautiful spread of food and drinks for everyone to tuck into, and constantly making sure everyone’s needs were met. The space available for bridal prep was also very nice, sometimes bridal prep can be a little tight in terms of space, but that wasn’t the case here. Stacey’s daughter even had the space and time to play in the garden, and even have a cheeky game of snooker in the games room. I was with Stacey and her girls for a few hours, before heading off to Weedon church, where the ceremony was being held.

Upon my arrival at the church I meet Steven, he was smiling from ear to ear and looked very sharp in his suit. He was in such an energetic fun mood which was lovely to see. He said he felt a little nervous, but you would never have guessed it. His great sense of humour and wit certainly won me over, and he had me laughing a lot throughout the day!

Once all of the guests arrived, they all headed into the church in anticipation. I captured Stacey arriving in style, and she looked absolutely stunning. Once I had captured her arrival, I ran inside the church, ready for the ceremony to begin.

Stacey looked so proud walking down the aisle, and Steven could not stop smiling. I hadn’t photographed a church wedding for a while by this point, which made a lovely change. The service was beautiful, heart warming, and very real. After the service, we all headed outside, where the guests gave the couple the biggest hugs ever!

The newlyweds wanted a few portraits together at the church, so once everyone left we did just that. The inside of Weedon church is incredible, and I had a lot of fun capturing something unique for them. After the portraits, we headed to Wood Farm at Everdon, where we would all be spending the rest of the day.

I had already scoped out the venue a week beforehand to get ideas together, so I knew exactly what I wanted to achieve, making it a smoother experience for the couple. If I am visiting a new venue, I always make sure to visit so I can get a feel for the place before I am there, capturing the real thing.

Formal group photographs were captured on the terrace, and I spent a lot of time capturing the children who were playing the various lawn games that were laid out. Again, everywhere I looked guests were laughing and having a great time.

The rest of the day went by so fast but was packed full of so many great moments. Before we knew it, we were all hitting it hard on the dancefloor, giving it our all. Steven and his best man disappeared at one point, as they were having a change of clothes. They entered the dancefloor looking very snazzy. I won’t lie, Stacey wasn’t initially too thrilled by this idea, but I personally think they both looked pretty cool!

Before I knew it, I was packing up my bags, ready to leave for home. I would like to say thanks to Stacey and Steven for putting their full trust in my vision. Anything I suggested they were more than up for trying, especially when it came to the couple portraits. Some weddings can be pretty fast-paced, but as this was a chilled wedding day, we had a lot of time to get some really creative photographs. From start to finish they were both so fun-loving, and up for whatever the day would bring.

I wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness together. You are a cracking couple, I really mean that!
