Lucy & Jonathan’s Wedding at Plum Park Manor
Some weddings are elegant and understated.
Some are emotional from start to finish.
And some are built entirely around people having an outrageously good time.
Lucy and Jonathan’s wedding at Plum Park Manor in October 2025 managed to be all three, often at the same time.
From emotional first looks and proud family moments in the morning, to a reception that involved guests being summoned to the dancefloor wearing hats and aprons before carving meat for their tables, this day had personality in every corner.
A Boutique Wedding Venue with Big Energy
Plum Park Manor sits right on the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire border, and it’s one of those boutique wedding venues that works perfectly for relaxed, guest focused days.
The weather was a little cold but dry, which honestly felt like a small win for October. No rain interruptions, no mad dashes indoors, just a steady pace to the day that let everything unfold naturally.
The vibe started emotional and calm, then gradually built as the day went on, before tipping fully into party mode by the evening.
A Morning Full of Moments (and Controlled Chaos)

Lucy got ready at Plum Park Manor in the bridal prep room, and from the start, the morning had energy.
Lucy wanted was a photo in front of the mirror with her bridesmaids. Simple, fun, and full of excitement. A perfect tone setter.
There were kids running around, laughter everywhere, and one young lad taking his role as ring security extremely seriously. Glasses on, badge proudly displayed, briefcase in hand, complete with rings inside, which he did briefly try on, purely for security reasons.
Lucy and her brother even practiced the aisle walk upstairs just outside the prep room, a quiet, reassuring moment before the day really began.
Then came the first looks. Lucy with her mum, both instantly emotional. Lucy with her bridesmaids, huge reactions all round. And the moment Lucy handed out gifts to her bridesmaids, which tipped more than a few people over emotionally.
Jonathan got ready elsewhere, but I stepped out during prep to capture him arriving with his best men. Straight into hugs, smiles, and that calm excitement that only really hits once everyone’s starting to arrive.
A Ceremony That Balanced Emotion and Humour
The ceremony took place in the orangery and was registrar led, with a lovely personal twist.
One guest gave a speech during the ceremony, which instantly relaxed the room. Add in the return of the ring security lad, still fully in character with briefcase and badge, and the whole thing felt warm, personal, and fun.
Lucy walked down the aisle with her brother, and from that point on the ceremony was full of smiles and genuine reactions. Emotional without being heavy. Light hearted without losing meaning.
Confetti, Thrown with Commitment

Confetti happened outside, and nobody held back.
This was full commitment from everyone involved. Lucy and Jonathan walked through it soaking everything in while guests gave it their all. Exactly how it should be. capturing this moment naturally is what its all about.
Portraits Full of Laughter
Portraits were taken around the beautifully maintained grounds, and they were a joy to photograph.
Lucy and Jonathan couldn’t stop laughing, especially Jonathan, who clearly found the whole thing hilarious. Nothing stiff, nothing forced, just natural moments and genuine reactions.
There wasn’t a proper golden hour, so later on I got the lights out and created a few evening portraits instead. Something a bit bolder and different, which suited their energy perfectly.
The Wedding Breakfast That Became a Show
This deserves its own moment.
During the wedding breakfast, one guest per table was chosen to wear a hat and apron and carve the meat for their table. But before they were allowed anywhere near the food, the DJ announced them up to the dancefloor and made them dance in front of everyone.
Watching guests reluctantly accept their fate, then fully commit to it, was incredible. Easily one of the most fun meal setups I’ve photographed.
The cake was made entirely of individual donuts, and Lucy very kindly insisted I take a few home. I did. Zero regrets.
Glow Sticks, No Shame, Full Chaos

By the evening, the dancefloor was wild. And then it got wilder.
Out came the oversized glow sticks, and from that point on it was full commitment from everyone. No standing back, no watching from the edges, just people having the best time.
Why Lucy & Jonathan Chose Me
Lucy and Jonathan wanted someone calm, relaxed, and unobtrusive. Someone who would blend in naturally, especially with a lot of camera shy guests.
Hearing later how relaxed they felt, and how much their friends and family commented on the atmosphere, means everything. Their review says the rest far better than I ever could.

Final Words
Lucy and Jonathan, thank you both so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day. It was an absolute pleasure from start to finish.
Your energy, your guests, and the way you approached the day made it unforgettable. I wish you both a lifetime of laughter, love, and probably more glow sticks.
