Chloe & Gregg’s magical October Wedding at The Granary at Fawsley

Chloe and Gregg got married at the Granary at Fawsley in October 2024, a venue I photographed plenty of times and never got bored of. If you’ve followed my work for a while, you’ll know I had a real soft spot for this corner of Northamptonshire. I was even on their recommended suppliers list, which still makes me smile.

Meeting Chloe & Gregg

A few weeks before the wedding, I met up with Chloe and Gregg in person. We went through their timeline and had a good chat to get to know each other. Straight away I could tell they were laid back, lovely people, and they clearly couldn’t wait.

October Sunshine at The Granary at Fawsley

When the day came, the weather decided to show off. October weddings can go either way, but this one had sunshine from start to finish. Ideal for all the lawn games and outdoor bits Chloe and Gregg had planned for their guests.

I got there early, as always, to look for fresh ideas. The Granary always had something new to offer, however many times I’d been. Chloe and her bridesmaids were buzzing during prep, and it was catching. One moment that stood out was Chloe reading a card from Gregg, which brought on a few happy tears. Those personal little moments are my favourite bits to photograph.

Emotional Moments and a Surprise Guest

Chloe and Gregg’s day was full of moments. Before the ceremony they had a “first touch”, holding hands without peeking. Then Chloe had a tearful first look with her dad. The ceremony itself was a mix of laughing and happy tears, and before anyone knew it, they were married.

Then came one of the best surprises I’ve ever photographed. Straight after the confetti, Gregg had arranged for their dog to turn up. Chloe’s reaction was pure joy, plus a few more happy tears.

Drinks, Lawn Games and Golden Hour

The drinks reception was a lot of fun. Crazy golf, ice cream (in October, no less) and plenty of laughing. I did the group photos and some couple portraits during this time, with the low autumn sun making everything look lovely and soft.

I always try to grab a few golden hour portraits, and Chloe and Gregg made it easy. By then they were completely at ease in front of the camera. Later, we nipped out again for a few sunset photos, and by that point they were old hands.

Evening Fun: Limbo and Fireworks

The speeches came before the meal, which I’d recommend to anyone who doesn’t fancy nervously pushing food around a plate. Then the wedding breakfast in The Granary’s barn. Gregg’s mum deserves a special mention for the cakes. They were so good even the suppliers were talking about them.

Once the dancing started, things got very competitive with a homemade limbo game using a belt. Lots of laughing, and some brilliant photos. The night finished with a fireworks display, which is a hard way to end a wedding to argue with.

Thank You, Chloe & Gregg

Chloe and Gregg, thank you so much for having me. It was a day full of laughing, sunshine and a very well timed dog. Thank you to your family and friends for making me feel so welcome, and to the team at The Granary at Fawsley for keeping everything running smoothly.

Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness.

“Lewis shot our wedding, and he was absolutely fantastic. He arranged a call, even before we booked him, so we could see if it was a good match. A week before the wedding, we had a meeting so that we could discuss all the details but he also sends out surveys so you can let him know everything. On the day, he was brilliant. All of our guests have commented on how lovely he was. He was making sure he got the shots we wanted, but without overstepping. Everything was totally led by us, which meant we got to enjoy our day and get amazing photos. He also has brilliant ideas for creative photos, that we loved.”, Chloe & Greg
