What a pleasure it was to revisit the Fawsley Hall Hotel in the summer of 2023! Tucked away in the Northamptonshire countryside, this place is an absolute stunner of a wedding venue, oozing high-class vibes and boasting a proper wow factor. About a year prior, I had the pleasure of capturing Sue & Nathan’s wedding here. Back then, I remember the feeling of the moment when I set foot in Fawsley Hall, I just knew I wanted to come back again, and again.
Fast forward a year, and hooray! I did just that, capturing the nuptials of Charlotte & Tommy. We had a chinwag about their big day about a month before the grand event, and let me tell you, I left buzzing with excitement. These two were clearly up for a good laugh and determined to have a blast on their special day!
During our chat, they spilled the beans about having fireworks, and you know how much I love capturing those magical moments for wedding couples.
The big day rolled around, and there I was, back at the splendid Fawsley Hall, geared up for the best day ever with everyone. I was tasked with documenting the entire journey, from the bride and groom getting ready right up to the first dance and beyond. As per usual, I arrived well ahead of time, eager to scout the grounds for fresh and creative ideas. Fawsley Hall’s grounds are so vast that I could keep coming back and whip up something unique for each couple every time.
I kicked off the day with Tommy and his merry band of best men in Knightley Court. They were an absolute riot, full of banter and great fun to capture. After a brief twenty minutes, I sauntered up to capture Charlotte and her squad of bridesmaids in one of Fawsley Hall’s unique bedrooms. Once again, it was a whole heap of fun, and it was evident they were gearing up for an epic day ahead.
The morning whizzed by, and in no time, I found myself heading down to the Salvin Longroom (the ceremony room) to capture Charlotte & Tommy saying their ‘I do’s’. Before the ceremony kicked off, I caught a heartwarming first look between Charlotte and her dad. He looked a tad nervous but oh-so-ready to see his daughter in her stunning wedding dress. Emotions flowed as soon as he laid eyes on her, radiating immense pride.
The ceremony was a tearjerker, especially when Tommy got a bit misty-eyed, it even set me, and the guests. Throughout the ceremony, the love between the couple was palpable, hands tightly entwined from start to finish.
Post-ceremony, we ventured outside for the entire drinks reception. Fawsley Hall looked divine in the summer sun, and everywhere you looked, guests were beaming and having an absolute ball. During the drinks reception, we snapped group shots on the lawn and sneaked away for a quick ten-minute session for bride & groom portraits. Charlotte & Tommy opted for a snappy portrait session as they wanted to make the most of their time with loved ones, a sentiment I fully endorse. After all, a wedding day is about celebrating with family and friends, not just posing for pictures.
Once the drinks reception wrapped up, we all sauntered into Knightley Court’s Saunders Suite, a snug and inviting space perfect for the wedding breakfast and evening shenanigans. The rest of the day whizzed by in a flash, with funny and memorable wedding speeches and a dance floor brimming with energy! I wrapped up the night by capturing the dazzling firework display.
