Chez & Fraser // Foxton // Leicestershire

An evening engagement shoot In Leicestershire.

A LOVELY PHOTOSHOOT, WITH A LOVELY COUPLE…PERFECT.

Foxton, in Leicestershire, is a stunning location for an engagement shoot!

During July, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Chez & Fraser in Foxton, Leicestershire. They had their photoshoot in Foxton, as it was a significant place to both of them, packed full of many wonderful memories. (The story of Fraser falling in the Canal, not one, but twice made me chuckle, I have to say.) I met them both at a pub by the name of ‘The Black Horse’ as this is where they wished to begin the shoot. Again, they have many fond memories of this beautiful little pub, so choosing this spot as a starting point meant a lot to them both.

Foxton Locks is located pretty much just around the corner. So after we had finished at the pub, we did not have to travel far to get to the next location. What I enjoy most out of engagement shoots is that it gives myself and the couple a chance to get to know each other on a more personal level. So when it comes to their wedding day, we are not strangers, and the couple feel a lot more comfortable in front of the camera.

IT’S NOT LONG NOW UNTIL THE COUPLE TIE THE KNOT,

WITH THEIR WEDDING DAY BEING HELD AT BARTON HALL, KETTERING.

It was great to finally meetup again, after so, so long, as we hadn’t met in person in a few years. To put it lightly, it has been one a heck of a journey for the couple. Chez & Fraser had originally booked me way back in 2018 and planned to tie the knot in 2020. We all know what a year 2020 turned out to be, so it was very understandable when the couple had to push their wedding day back to 2021. Their wedding day is now just under a month away (whoop whoop!) and is taking place at Barton Hall in Kettering. I captured a wedding there last year, and know the venue well. Knowing I am returning there to capture another wedding is amazing, as it unquestionably such an impressive venue, inside and out!

ANYWAY, LET’S GET BACK TO THE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT AYE, AS THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE HERE TO READ ABOUT!

Both Chez & Fraser said what most couples say, and that is that ‘We dislike our photograph being taken’. Now If you were to look through these images, would you have thought so? I personally felt they were complete naturals in front of the camera and were a lot of fun to capture. It’s my job to make the couple feel relaxed, comfortable, and make them realise that it’s not such a scary thing after all. I hope they both came away feeling confident, and totally pumped up for their wedding day, as I look forward to creating epic portraits that they can cherish forever. By the sounds of it, their day is going to be a lot of fun, and I cannot wait to document every moment that I can.

I LOVE CREATING A LITTLE PHOTOGRAPHY MAGIC WHEN I CAN

From start to finish, we were non-stop chatting, talking about anything and everything, and the evening just flew by. Nearing the end of the shoot, I wanted to create a shot that was a little different from the rest. As it was a very dull, overcast evening, I knew creating a ‘fake sunset’ would work perfectly. This is a technique that I do not overly use, but when I do it impresses me every time.

I would like to thank both Chez & Fraser for being so chilled on the evening and open to all the ideas I had in my head. I cannot wait for your wedding day in August, and look forward to meeting all of your family and friends!
