Fawsley Hall Wedding in Autumn
Fawsley Hall, a beautiful luxury country house hotel, based in Daventry, Northamptonshire.
During October I had the pleasure of photographing Sue & Nathan’s Wedding day at the stunning Fawsley Hall. For a very long time, I had wanted to capture a wedding at this particular venue, as it has that wow factor about it. The venue is steeped in tradition and history, and it shows, upon arrival its easy to see why this venue is rated so highly!
I had a chat with the couple a few weeks before their wedding day, to go over their day in detail, and just have a general chin wag. It’s always great to speak to the couple properly before a wedding, because that way, we are not like strangers on the day, and more like friends. I came away from the call, really looking forward to what their day would bring. This would be the most intimate wedding I had ever captured, as there were only going to be five people in total at the wedding. Sue & Nathan had wanted to have a very small wedding and planned to have a huge wedding reception a week later.
Their wedding day soon rolled around, and I arrived at Fawsley hall nice and early. It was a beautiful crisp, Autumn day, and Fawsley Hall looked amazing. I was booked for four hours, so the plan was for me to capture bridal prep, all the way to just after the ceremony.
I did my usual thing, scoping out the venue for ideas, and as I made my way around the formal gardens, lots of creative ideas popped into my head, which I knew would look really unique for the couple. After I had a good look around the venue, I headed up to the room where Sue and the girls were all getting ready. They were all getting ready in a spectacular suite, the room looked fit for a queen. Halfway through prep, the plan was for me to meet Nathan outside, and capture him and his daughter. Nathan looked sharp in his suit and certainly looked the part, he looked so proud.
Bridal prep seemed to fly by as it always does, but it was honestly packed full of so many lovely moments. Sue wanted to have a first look with her daughters. As they walked into the room to see their mum in her dress, they could not have looked more happy! Sue looked amazing, and could not stop smiling. Before we knew it, we were all heading down to the ceremony room for the ‘I do’s’
Fawsley Hall is the perfect location for a wedding!
The ceremony took place in the Salvin boardroom, which was an incredibly intimate affair, but felt just as special as any other wedding. Sue & Nathan were clearly very much in Love, and could not stop staring at each other during the ceremony. Before they knew it, they were officially Mr & Mrs. After the ceremony we headed to the bar, where we all sat together, had a drink ( I had a coke, not alcohol for me!), and had a good chat. After twenty minutes we all headed outside for group formals, as well as couple portraits.
You will notice a photograph of Nathan on a bike, this was completely Sue’s idea, and she secretly asked me to try and get a photograph of him sitting on the bike, which you will see, I did manage to capture! The whole day went by without a hitch, and I would like to thank Sue, Nathan, and the guests for making me feel so welcome on the day.
