Blackwell Grange Wedding Photographer

If you’re searching for a Blackwell Grange wedding photographer, you’re probably not looking for a full day photoshoot with a wedding attached. You want the real stuff, the laughs, the hugs, the speech faces, the groomsmen chaos, and those quiet little “this is actually happening” moments too.

Blackwell Grange is an exclusive use barn wedding venue in the Cotswolds, near Shipston on Stour, and it’s properly special. You’ve got the beautifully restored Thatch Barn for your ceremony, the contemporary Orchard Barn for your wedding breakfast and dancing, and countryside views that make everything feel a bit unreal, in the best way.

I’ve photographed weddings at Blackwell Grange before, and it suits the way I work perfectly, loads of natural light, space to breathe, and a mix of rustic and modern backdrops without having to go anywhere.

Blackwell Grange wedding venue, rustic and contemporary done right

This place has been a family home for generations, and you can feel that straight away. It opened as a wedding venue in 2016, and everything about it is designed to make the day flow smoothly, from prep, to ceremony, to drinks, to the party.

It’s also the sort of barn wedding venue where guests instantly relax, which is brilliant for atmosphere and even better for photos.

If you’re planning an autumn wedding, Blackwell Grange is a winner. Warm light, cosy corners, and that Cotswolds countryside colour popping behind you.

Morning preparations, The Potting Shed

The Potting Shed is where things start, calm, cosy, and full of natural light.

It’s got space for bridal prep without feeling cramped, plus mirrors, comfy seating, and those little practical bits that make mornings feel easy. There’s also a private dressing space for the final “right, deep breath” moment before you head out.

And walking past the Moon Gate towards the ceremony, that’s one of those little venue touches that just feels cinematic.

Ceremony spaces, Thatch Barn and outdoors

Thatch Barn ceremony

The Thatch Barn dates back to 1543 and it’s been beautifully restored. Original oak beams, big windows, chandeliers, and a proper fireplace. It’s got atmosphere, but it still feels light and open, which is exactly what you want for the ceremony and for the photos.

Outdoor ceremony at the Arbor

If you want to get married outside, the Arbor gives you that countryside backdrop and that relaxed, open air feeling that makes ceremonies feel even more personal.

Orchard Barn, wedding breakfast, speeches, and the party

The contemporary Orchard Barn is where the celebrations really get going.

It’s light filled, modern, and works brilliantly as a blank canvas if you want to decorate it your way. The bar is right there, and the Snug upstairs is perfect for guests who want a quieter chat without leaving the action completely.

Speeches work especially well here too, the reactions are always brilliant, and the room has enough space for a proper dance floor later on.

Food and drink at Blackwell Grange

Blackwell Grange takes food seriously, and guests notice.

Seasonal menus, local ingredients, and loads of options, canapés, wedding breakfast, and evening food like wood fired pizzas, street food stations, or a cheese board that disappears faster than you can say “anyone seen the groom”.

Happy guests, good energy, better photos. Simple.

1604 accommodation, stay on site

1604 accommodation sleeps 24 guests across ten ensuite bedrooms in traditional farm buildings, including a honeymoon suite.

It makes the whole experience feel bigger than one day, because you can actually stay, wake up, and have a proper breakfast debrief with your favourite people the next morning, comfy clothes, messy hair, still buzzing.

Wedding photography at Blackwell Grange

Photography at Blackwell Grange is a dream because you get variety without effort.

You’ve got
Thatch Barn, ceremony emotion, oak beams, thatch, fireplace
Orchard Barn, modern, clean, perfect for speeches and dance floor madness
Cotswolds countryside, stone walls, landscape views, and loads of space
The Potting Shed for prep, calm, cosy, full of natural light
Plenty of spots for group photos that don’t hijack your drinks reception

And it suits every season. A beautiful autumn wedding here is especially good, warm tones, cosy vibes, and that golden light when it shows up.

My approach as your wedding photographer

I keep it relaxed, and I keep you in your wedding, not away from it.

I’ll blend in, capture what’s actually happening, and give gentle guidance when it helps, especially for portraits. We’ll keep it quick, easy, and natural, then you’re straight back to your guests.

You’ll get candid moments, beautiful portraits, full day coverage, and all the little bits you’ll want to remember, including the stuff you didn’t even see.
