Intimate Winter Wedding at Crockwell Farm

Crockwell Farm, what a magical setting for a winter wedding

During December 2021, I had the pleasure of photographing Gillian & Sam’s wedding at an idyllic, rural barn wedding venue by the name of Crockwell Farm, located in Northamptonshire. I had wanted to capture a wedding here for a while now, as it really is stunning, so I was chuffed to bits when I knew I finally had the chance to do so!

I visited the venue before the wedding day itself, as I always do, to scope it out for ideas, and also just to get a general feel for the place. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the owners, they made me feel very welcome, and gave me lots of useful information about their venue, which was lovely. Within just a few minutes of being there, my mind filled with creative ideas which I could use on the day. Being a winter wedding, the weather is a little unpredictable, to say the least, so I had to come up with creative ideas for both indoors and outdoors.

After leaving Crockwell farm, I could not wait to return to capture the couple’s big day. I will be honest in saying that winter weddings are a little more challenging than summer weddings, but I personally love that as it makes me challenge myself even more to create those ‘wow shots’.

Crockwell Farm is such a unique wedding venue, hidden within the Northamptonshire countryside…

The day soon rolled around, and I was yet again returning to Crockwell Farm. I made my way to bridal prep, which overall, turned out to be a very relaxed affair. Bridal prep can go one of two ways, it’s either completely manic (in a good way) or pretty chilled out. This was certainly on the more relaxed side of the spectrum, and the morning went by incredibly smoothly. Gillian looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and Sam looked incredibly sharp in his suit.

Winter weddings….always feel extra special.

All the wedding guests soon arrived, and before we all knew it, the ceremony was in full swing. Both Gillian & Sam looked so happy (and rightly so!) as did all of their loved ones. Before they knew it they were officially Mr & Mrs. Flower (Congrats!).

The rest of the day was pure perfection. Yes, the weather may not have been on our side, but did that stop everybody from having lots of fun, of course it didn’t! The guests certainly knew how to get into the party spirit, and were especially a lot of fun to capture on the dancefloor!

everywhere I looked, people were smiling, laughing, and enjoying the day to the max. Gillian & Sam were also open to all the ideas I had in mind when it came to couple portraits (Thank you!) which was great, as I really did wish to capture something extra special for them both. I was so happy with one of the photographs, that I even entered it into a competition and won an award which was incredible!

Northamptonshire is full of so many hidden gems, Crockwell Farm being one of them!

Lastly, I would like to say thank you to all the team at Crockwell farm that made the day run so efficiently. You were all welcoming, professional and nothing was too much for you all, which I believe made it even more incredible for the couple and all of their wedding guests.

I cannot wait to return one day to your stunning venue and do it all over again! If you are looking for a venue with that extra something, then Crockwell Farm is certainly worth checking out! ( I have left their contact information below!)
