How it all began

For some reason, growing up, I wanted to be a lawyer (not a policeman, or fireman like most kids). But that idea soon fizzled out and I was soon on to the next thing, and the next thing, and then the next thing, as kids do. I am not sure entirely at what age I discovered my love of photography (I am going to say, early teens). But it’s funny, as I type this I realise my passion for photography goes back a lot further than I first thought.

I was that kid that photographed everything and anything on his mobile phone (the quality was terrible, but I didn’t know any different at the time) and doing so, as I simply enjoyed it. I also used to create video content with friends, with camcorders (The ones with videotapes in them, wow that makes me sound old!). It was nothing serious, but I got so much enjoyment watching everything back, and enjoyed the whole creative process.

I never realised, or even thought at the time, that photography could or would ever be a career. After years of taking photographs on mobile phones, I picked up my first ‘proper’ camera (as people put it) again by absolute chance, and I was instantly hooked. I remember looking at the quality of the images taken on a DSLR compared to what I was capturing on my mobile phone, and thinking ‘wow this is pretty amazing!’. I remember the next week, heading to an electronic shop and purchasing my first ever DSLR (a Canon 550d)

Again after years of messing around with my camera in hand (it was pretty much glued to me), my skills naturally grew, and people reached out to me through social media asking if I could take photographs of their kids (for money, real money!)

Over time, doing jobs here and there, I began to see that there was something in this. For one, capturing moments, and creating memories for people felt like nothing else, and as cheesy as it sounds, I felt like and still feel like photography gave me purpose in life.

So after a while of photographing a little bit of everything, I captured my first wedding for a work colleague of mine at the time. He understood I had never captured a wedding before, but knew I was passionate about the art, so he put his trust in me to document his big day.

You could say the rest is history, and I have now photographed around 100 weddings (and continue to love photographing weddings more and more each year), at some pretty incredible locations, and met some absolutely amazing couples along the way (You know who you are!).

They say everything happens for a reason, and when I look back at my life, I couldn’t agree more. If I hadn’t had been with my friend that day, and picked up that DSLR for instance, my true love of photography may never have been discovered!

Since I began my wedding photography business, It has been an incredible journey, one which I have shared with you every step of the way.

My favourite things in the world apart from photography are travelling, cycling, eating good food, gaming, gardening, and of course spending time with my family! (I had to include a pic of my partner and son below, I would like to thank them both for the encouragement and support all these years!)

The best thing about being a wedding photographer is that I get to meet lots of interesting people and get to create photographs that people can cherish FOREVER. I specialise in documentary wedding photography, making sure those real, unscripted moments are captured.

I work in an unobtrusive manner, documenting the story of your wedding day as naturally as possible with no fuss. I always aim to deliver unforgettable images so you can relive your experience time and time again. I also enjoy creating beautiful portraits that you can cherish forever!

My aim is for you to spend as much time with your family & friends so you can enjoy your day to the max.

I promise I won’t turn your day into one long photoshoot! I mix in with your guests and join in with the day celebrations, making your guests feel comfortable around me. I can wholeheartedly say I have loved every single wedding I’ve captured, and feel incredibly lucky to be doing what I do, and it's all thanks to you.
